Just Fasting as a Colon Detox Diet

Juice fasting is another popular colon detox diet. It involves juicing various vegetables and fruits with water. There are many popular diets that include utilizing primarily beets or wheatgrass, but really any juiced series of vegetables and fruits with water will help to detox your system and help your colon. It is important to stay on a juiced diet for about a week minimum, though some juice diets recommend that you stay on them for 60 days or more. Ultimately the length of how long you stay on any colon detox diet is up to you, but you should see both colonic results and weight loss results with the first 48 hours.

Protein Powders, Shakes, And What Not

There are several commercial fasting programs that don’t propose that you increase your intake of fruits and vegetables as a colon cleansing diet, but instead increase your consumption of proteins. To that extent, there are several whey and soy protein powders, some with flavorings, that you can mix with milk or water to use as a colon detox diet. The problem with a protein based diet is that if you consume too many calories in comparison to your exercise and metabolism needs, your body will turn the protein into fat cells, so you end up effectively trading one problem for another one.
